Yoga and Ayurveda are priceless contributions from ancient ascetic circles for the
wellness of entire creatures. Yoga is not only a physical activity to reduce a
few pounds from an obese body but a sacred act towards self-realization and discovery
of own potential and identity (the way nature created us with its own secret
intentions) through continuous practice and focus. Yoga helps to retain the vital energy and aura through magnificent radiance of spirituality.
It has been commended in general that Yoga is
a religious practice. But, even Hinduism itself is not meant to be a religious group
as Hinduism look at everything and everyone in this universe as a derivative of
the supreme soul. Hinduism do not recommend to consider those who follow
various religions as outcast! But, it envisage every movable and immovable
particles in this universe as buckles of a sole glorious chain. A real Hindu can not discriminate one from another in the basis of religion or any other
man-made barrier.
Yoga embodies unity of mind and body through
transformation which happens at subtle level as a result of an upward rise in
vital energy through delicate 5 power-plexus (Kundalini Chakras) in the spinal cord. Yama (ethical restraints - the don’ts),
niyama (ethical observances - the dos), Asana (a posture that one can
hold for a period of time, staying relaxed, steady, comfortable and motionless),
Pranayama (conscious regulation and exercise of breath), Pratyahara (mastery
of sensory organs, withdrawal of the senses from external objects), Dharana
(concentration, introspective focus, utmost concentration of mind),
Dhyana (meditation) and Samadhi (the quiet state of complete
forgetfulness of external world and the physical, complete blissful awareness
of one's mind and liberated being, superconscious state.) are the eight
steps of Yoga.
Pranayama is an advanced step of Yoga which
depicts the churning of the Ocean of milk which was done by Devas and Asuras as
per prehistoric mythology. It was performed with the help of ‘Mount Mandara’ as
churning rod and ‘serpent Vasuki’ in its spiral form around the mountain as
churning rope causing the mountain to rotate, which in turn churned the ocean.
As a result of this elaborate process, ocean started emitting poison in the
beginning (in view of renouncing evil possessions from our live as one start
doing Yoga) and thereafter produced startling reserves which would make anyone
ecstatic (the real fruit of performing Yoga!)
Yoga give comprehensive answers to adverse question
a human confront in life. Meditation enables self-analysis on perception,
cognition and illustration of principles prescribed in Vedas and Upanishads.
We live upholding personal and professional mission
and vision of this short span of life. But, at times, life becomes automated and
we end up being a helpless product of the environment we live in and systems we
live with.
As days pass by, a human’s life cycle seems to be shallow and meager
in insights about own existence. People are oblivious about own inception,
existence and extinction; they are in an illusory exterior world who hardly remember
the force behind whole creation found in and around. Majority of lives end up
even before realizing that ‘who am I?’ Yoga teaches it and those who are lucky
enough to learn and perform Yoga are those who are on the platform to know own
soul closer which would unleash the clandestine resource within.
